Who Are We?
The Krewe of Freret is comprised of men, women, young, old, native, and transplant.
The founders are seven friends who attended Loyola together and frequented the Freret area when it was an unsavory place, paving the way for those with great vision and entrepreneurial spirit. They are lovers of Mardi Gras, walking in Barkus, tagging along with Krewe of Saint Anne, camping out at Jackson and St. Charles for Zulu and Rex. They want you to help infuse new technology, new ideas, and new participants to Carnival.
Membership Perks
Join a Krewe in its infancy. Ride with your friends, share your ideas, bring Carnival to life.
Members receive first option to ride upon securing parade permit! Members also receive a free ball ticket, valued at $125!
Krewe of Freret is really a social aid and pleasure club, with social events and philanthropy events every month.

Giving Back
Krewe of Freret members are some of the most active contributors to New Orleans. Whereas some Krewes give to the city just one day of the year, the Krewe of Freret holds monthly service events.
We have worked with Habitat Humanity, the Freret Initiative, Ozanam Inn, and the Second Harvest Food Bank. If you need volunteers for a worthwhile community endeavor, please email the Krewe of Freret and we will try to make something work!

How’s it Hanging?
Krewe of Freret hosts monthly get togethers to discuss ways to improve Mardi Gras, and more so, just relax and get to know one another. Oh, and members receive free entrance to the annual black tie ball, too!
We have held social outings at Dat Dog, Avenue Pub, Box Office, Midway Pizza, Cure, and the Fine Arts Center. When possible, we try to support businesses on Freret Street.
For the past few months, you may have seen our booth at the Freret Market! If not serendipitously, you can find our table next to the beer.
